Criticism in the works of Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey

This study aims to elucidate the critical stance of Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey, a 16th-century poet, within Turkish literature. Thus, it intends to contribute to the research and evaluation studies concerning the role of criticism in the 16th century and Classical literature. The study consists of an introduction and three main sections. The "Introduction" section provides general information about criticism. The first section, "Life, Art, and Works of Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey," outlines his advice-giving style and focuses on the studies conducted on him. In the second section, "negative criticisms" derived from Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey's works are classified under various headings, and subheadings are created and supported with relevant couplets. The third section categorizes the "positive criticisms" obtained from Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey's works under different headings, and subheadings are formed and supported with testimonial couplets. In the "Conclusion" section, a general evaluation of the data obtained from Taşlıcalı Yahyâ Bey's works is conducted, and an attempt is made to reach a conclusion by creating tables based on these data.
