Abstract (EN)

Nowadays the adhesives are used more widely than any other connection method. The main reason for that is the lower cost, less stress concentration, easy application and many advantages such as smooth surfaces to achieve. In this study, effect of overlap length (12.5, 25, 50, 100 mm) and adherend thickness (1.62, 3.2, 4.8, 6.4 mm) over the stress values and failure loads on the single lap joints which subjected to tensile load has been examined. For this study 4 different overlap lengths and 4 different adherend thicknesses are used. Stress distribution on the adhesive layer and lower adherend lines has been find out by finite element method. Furthermore, effect of different the lower and the upper adherend thickness on the stress distribution are studied.
