Education in the Turkish novel of the Single Party Period

The purpose of this study is to determine in the Repuclic education system the place of novels which are published in the Single Party Period and subjecting education conception in a comprehensive way and to examine their educational functions in various aspects. In this study, document analysis technique which is one of the qualitative research method is used. In order to determine the educational approach of the Single Party Period and to make a healthy novel review, data were collected from various books, dissertations and articles. The research data were subjected to descriptive analysis and content analysis according to its place. In the direction of main titles consisting of teacher, student, school and environment; the novels "Çalıkuşu", "Yeşil Gece", "Acımak", "Vurun Kahpeye", "On Yılın Romanı" and "Bizim Köy" which were selected as a result of their publication in the Single Party Period and focused on the issue of education were analyzed. Thanks to the data obtained from the novels, the understanding of the education system of the Single Party Period was compared with these novels and novel heroes. Later, the role of novels in public education and Social Sciences teaching was discussed. At the end of the study, it was understood that there was a parallelism between the educational concept of the Single Party Period and these novels; that the novels show a success graph which can change according to the place, time and conditions in terms of educational function and it can be used as material in the teaching of Social Sciences.
