Abstract (EN)

We included 20 patients with one sided anterior cruciate ligament injury who had admitted to Akdeniz University Hospital outpatient clinic between May 2012 and August 2012. The mean age of the patients was 26.9 (17-47) and 16 of the patients were male and 4 of them were female. We tested and compared the patellar tendon reflexes of injured and uninjured knees according to electromyelographic and kinesiologic parameters pre-operatively and at the 1st month post-operatively at Akdeniz University Norology department EMG laboratory. All of the ACL injuries had operated via Rigid Fix technique. We observed neither infection nor hemarthrosis as a complication. None of the patients have experienced re-rupture during observation period. We detected meniscal pathology with 11 patients, intraoperatively. There were a difference, when we compared the extansion degree, extansion- flexion degree inbetween the uninjured and the injured knee, injured knee and operated knee, which were statictically significant. When we compare the valgus angulation of uninjured knee and the injured knee, there was also statistically significant difference. As a result; uninjured knees of patients with anterior cruciate ligment injury also affected negatively, so when planing the treatment, injured and uninjured knee should be accepted as pathological and the treatment plan should be done accordingly.Key words: Anterior cruciate ligament, Rigid fix, Patellar tendon reflex
