Abstract (EN)

The first examples of the mordant printing technique were found in India. This in the technique, pastes are prepared for printing using mordants and is printed on the fabric surface. Mordants are used in natural dyeing it is used as a binder between the dyestuff and the dyed fiber, yarn and fabric. Mordant is used as a dyestuff in printing technique in natural dyeing. The dyeing process is carried out with plants. Used in natural dyeing some of these plants can be obtained as food waste. Within the scope of the study, iron sulfate and alum mordants and dyestuffs of pomegranate peel, yellow onion peel, purple onion peel and avocado seed from food wastes used in natural dyeing were selected for printing applications. Printing pastes were prepared for printing applications using the selected mordants and dyes. The printing pastes were printed on cotton and linen fabrics. Washing fastness values of 20 of the applied prints were measured. In line with the printing applications with fastness values of 3 and above, product designs for home textiles were prepared using three-dimensional design programs. CLO 3D garment design program and illustrator programs were used to create three-dimensional designs. One collection was selected among the kitchen textile designs to be realized.
