Abstract (EN)

The basic target of machining is to provide the workpiece to be manufactured with surface quality and burr height within the limits economically together with geometrical and dimensional preciseness. Today, it is quite hard to drill widely utilized Ti-6AL-4V alloys due to their superior properties. Therefore, in this study, the effects on surface roughness, deviation in hole diameter, burr height, temperature, chip formation and tool wear were investigated in drilling Ti-6AL-4V under dry cutting conditions for various cutting speed and feed rate with tungsten carbide (WC) and high speed steel (HSS) drills.
