Özet (EN)

. Our study was planned to evaluate physical and pulmonary functions in individuals with type II diabetes. International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), 6 Minute Walking Test (6MWT), Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Charlson Comorbidity Ġndex and Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire were applied to evaluate the individuals. In the study, 58 type II diabetic (study group -mean years 53,32 ± 5,86 years) and 52 non-diabetic (control group - mean years 51,40 ± 5,79 years), total 110 individuals were included. The result of the study, 6MWT distance of study and control group were respectively 507,2 ±51,70 m and 532,23 ± 50,32 m and the difference was statistically significant (p<0,05). PFT parameters of study and control group were determined as FVC 2,82 ± 0,74 L and 3,23 ± 0,84 L, FEV1 2,30 ± 0,57 L and 2,57 ± 0,60 L, respectively (p<0,05). The comorbidity scores of study and control group were determined as 1,83 ± 0,82 ve 0,12 ± 0,32 (p<0,05). When the relation between the variables of study group examined, significantly positive correlation (r=0,423, p=0,001) between BMI and musculoskeletal disorders and; significantly negative correlation (r=-0,457, p=0,000) between BMI and walking distance were found. The results of the study showed that type II diabetes affects functional capacity, pulmonary function and comorbid diseases, negatively. Key Words: Type II Diabetes, physical activity, functional capacity, pulmonary function, comorbidity, musculoskeletal diseases
