Özet (EN)

Thyroid nodules has %3-7 frequency in general population. FNA biopsy is an important diagnostic tool for patients with thyroid nodules. There are many reporting systems for FNA biopsy and Beshesda system is the most common one. The aim of this retrospective study, detect the atipia with undetermined significance rates in the patients who performed FNA biopsy and evaluate the concomittant biopsy results of this patients and evaluate the types of operation and malignancy rates in the patients who were candidate and performed surgical operation. In this study 3371 patients who was performed thyroid FNAB between 2010 January and 2016 July in Akdeniz University Hospital evaluated retrospectively and 61 patients who was performed total thyroidectomy or thyroid lobectomy was enrolled the study. Atipia with undetermined significance frequency has been found as 8%. When FNAB and final patology results evaluate together and first FNAB's sensitivity is found as 100% and spesivity is %5. The first FNAB positive predictive value is 30%, negative predictive value is 100%. The second FNAB's which perfomed the patients who first FNAB's results was AUS, sensitivity is found as 75% and spesivity is 0%. There were no statistically differences between first and second FNABs results for malignancy in this study. The frequency of atipia with undetermined significance in patient series on the literature is between 3-10% and in our study we found this rate as 8%. The malignancy rates according to final patology reports are between 22-35% and we found this rate as 29,5%. However there were contradictory datas about the malignancy rates and significance for operation after fisrt FNAB and operation after second FNAB, new studies with larger patients series is necessary about this topic.
