Abstract (EN)

In this study, a schiff base was synthesized by the condensation reaction of 2-aminobenzothiazole with 4-hydroxy benzaldehyde, From the reaction of the synthesized schiff base with methacryloylchloride, the monomer of N- (1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl) -1- (4-methacryloxyyloxyphenyl) methanimine was obtained. Homopolymerization of this monomer and copolymerization of this monomer with ethylmethacrylate with different percentages were carried out by free radical polymerization at 70 0C in the presence of AIBN as an initiatorand 1,4-dioxane as a solvent. Inaddition, a polymer of this schiff base monomer was obtained by oxidative polycondensation using NaO Cloxidant in basic aqueous medium. Structural characterizations of the Schiff base and polymers were made by using FT-IR and 1H-NMR techniques, and their thermal stability was determined by TGA. Thin films of the copolymers doped with methylene blue dye were prepared by spin coating method. UV measurements of the prepared thin film samples were taken with UV-VIS-NIR device and optical properties were investigated. The antibacterial activities of the synthesized compounds were examined at different concentrations on sixteen bacterial species.
