Satisfaction from TOKİ Housing: Gölcük TOKİ Housing example

Harms of the devastating earthquake in Gölcük of Kocaeli in 1999 are tried to be rehabilitated by foundations and organizations facilitate both in public and private sector and this activity is going on. Also, internal migration movements in Kocaeli where the industrilization is intensive, cause rapid growth of population and thus, there occurs a need for durable and reliable housing. To compensate for the need for housing, the production and presentation of housing are done in different production forms. The most important of these forms is unduobtedly Housing Development Administration (TOKI). In this research, the satisfacton of the users of TOKI in Gölcük, which was produced by TOKI, is evaluated according to housing plan and usage, housing neighbourhood and neighbouring relations, and the expectations of the users by taking into consideration the variables like the type of the housing and the characteristics of the users. For this reason, the questionnaire which was prepared for permanent housing in Kocaeli is applied by adapting the questionnaire to Gölcük TOKI housing. According to the results of the research, there is a meaningful relationship between the satisfaction of housing users and their socio-economic index in terms of statistics. The result shows that users do not want to buy a house not only for taking shelter, but they also want the must of inside qualifications of the house provide their needs and demands, reliance in infrastructure invulnerability, housing neighbourhood order in esthetics with green areas and the social reinforcement around the housing. The existance of such factors makes the satisfaction levels high.
