Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine lecturers? and pre-service teachers? views and expectations of conduction and implementation of ?Community Service Practices? course. Within case study research design, a questionnaire and interview protocol were used to collect data. The sample of the study consisted of totally 10 lecturers (4 assistant professor--one each from Science Education, Mathematics Education, Computer and Instructional Technology Education and Social Science Education), 5 lecturers--three from Primary Teacher Education and two from Social Science Education, one from Mathematics Education) and totally 208 pre-service teachers (64 from Primary Teacher Education, 57 from Science and Technology Education, 33 from Social Science Education and 54 from Primary Mathematics Education). In analyzing data, the obtained data were exposed to frequency(f) and percentage(%) calculations. The results showed that lecturers requested a decrease in group number involved in this course and needed a sample guideline. Further, it was found that pre-service teachers required an increase in lecturer guidance and needed a guideline with sample studies and directions of each stage of the project. In light of the results, it is suggested that Community Service Center where volunteer lecturers and pre-service teachers may collaboratively work should be established in university.
