Improving agricultural grounds by Cd and Pb with soil washing method

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the application of soil washing method to improve agricultural soils contaminated with heavy metals was examined. Soil samples were taken from agricultural lands in Aksehir district of Konya and wheat and bean soil samples were taken from the vicinity of the road near industry. First, washing solutions (EDTA and HCl) were prepared in different concentrations of 0.1M, 0.05M and 0.01M. 2 grams of three different soil samples (tomato soil, wheat soil and bean soil) were weighed and added in 20ml and 40ml of wash solutions in solid / liquid ratios of 1/10 and 1/20. The prepared samples were mixed in the incubator for 2 hours at both 100rpm and 200rpm. During this mixing process, samples were taken at 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes. The amounts of heavy metal (Pb and Cd) were then measured in the ICP-MS apparatus to determine the content of heavy metals contained in these taken samples. At the end of the structured, three different soil slices, washing solutions and molarity differences, solid / liquid ratios and heavy metal treatments were observed over time. At the end of this data, for Pb heavy metal; 48.42% in 0.1M EDTA washing solution in tomato grown soil, in wheat grown soil 0.05M EDTA washing solution 83,19% and 68.43% yield was obtained in 0.1M EDTA washing solution in bean grown soil. Cd is for heavy metal; 84.95% in 0,01M EDTA washing solution in tomato soil, 76,09% in 0.1M HCl washing solution in wheat soil and bean soil was obtained in 0.05M EDTA washing solution 83.85% yield. According to all these data, the best washing solution was determined as 0.05M EDTA and the best mixing speed was 200 rpm according to the mixing speed difference.
