Investigation of the relationship between air pollution and meteorological parameters in Trabzon city center for the period 2015 - 2021

In this study; the relationship between air polluant and certain meteorological prameters of Trabzon city center was statistically analyzed and the effect of the prevailing wind direction and the speed depending on this direction on the movements of the polluants was observed. In these analyzes using EXCEL package program, the period between November 2015 and April 2021 was divided into six separate heating seasons. These six separate warm-up seasons are the six-month periods between November 2015-April 2016, November 2016-April 27, November 2017-Apri 2018, November 28-April 2016, November 2019-April 2020, November 2020-April 2021. During these six-month periods, both polunt data and meteorological parameters were studied daily an subjected to regression analysis and the results were evaluated within each period. In the second stage, the wind ose model was studied with the help of the EXCEL package program. The relationship of the polluants with the prevailing wind direction and their velocities were investigated. Although the number of wind directions that reduce polluant concentrations is low in Trabzon city center, when radar graphics are examined, it can be seen that the relatively strong wind blowing from the ENE direction for particulate matter has reduced the pollution to some extent. The strong wing blowing from the the W direction had no effect on the dispersion of PM. Likewise, when analyzed for SO2, the strong wind blowing from the WNW direction was not successful in reducing the concentration, while the wind blowing from the opposite direction, ESE, had a somewhat reducing effect on SO2.
