Abstract (EN)

In cities where settlement and population density are rapidly increasing, climate and air quality have important effects on human health and quality of life in urban and rural planning at the regional level. Considering the combined effects of atmospheric conditions on people, thermal comfort and weather conditions play an important role in urban recreation planning. So much so that a person can lead a qualified life and perform quality recreational activities, allowing the individual to be renewed physically and spiritually. In this thesis, the effect of temperature, which is a climate parameter, on thermal comfort in four urban recreation areas (Beşirli Coastal Walking Path, Ekopark, Atapark and Botanik Park) with different recreational activity venues and features in Trabzon was investigated. In order to determine the comfort values of these areas, daily (00.00, 03.00, 06.00, 09.00, 12.00, 15.00, 18.00 and 21.00) measured climate data (air temperature, air humidity, wind speed, cloudiness) were obtained in winter and summer months (2020 – December, 2021 – January, February, June, July, August). RayMan Pro model was used to calculate the Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) index values, which is the thermal comfort calculation index of these data, and the comfort range values of the areas were found. As a result, Beşirli Beach Walkway is cold in winter, Ecopark is very cold, Atapark is very cold and cold, Botanical Park is very cold; In the summer season, Beşirli Coastal Walking Path is warm, Ekopark and Atapark are comfortable and warm, Botanic Park is comfortable and slightly cool thermal perception. In this direction, the recreational plans of the study areas were reviewed and suggestions were made.
