Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is; the determining the change of root and soil biomass depanding on the ecological factors for Fagus orientalis L. at the district of Alacadağ Forest Management Chiefdom, which is sub department of Torul Management Directorate of Trabzon Regional Directorate of Forestry. For this purpose, 30 sampling plots of Fagus orientalis L. with similar canaopy and age class from the area of Alacadağ Forest Management Chiefdom were used. Slope, aspect, height and coordinate of each sampling plots were taken to determine for topography of stand. We were taken 270 root samples and 150 soil samples in each plot. To determine root biomass, 1x2 m sized soil pits were digged. Soil pits diveded into depth classes as 0-30 cm, 30-60 cm and 60-90 cm. Soil samples were taken from depth classes of 0-10 cm, 10-30 cm, 30-50 cm,50-80 cm and 80-100 cm. Root samples were oven-dried at 65 ºC for 48 hours and weighed. Soil samples were air dried and weighed. Small, fine, coarse root biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand were found 1526 kg/ha, 1457 kg/ha ve 8158 kg/ha. Total root biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand was found 11142 kg/ha. Small root biomass mean unchanged with soil dephts but fine and coarse root biomass mean unchanged by statistical analysis. Root biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand changed with aspect and unchanged stand volume. Southern slopes had larger root biomass than northern slopes did. Soil biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand was found 4180 ton/ha. Soil biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand changed with soil dephts and maximum soil biomass mean was found 1525 ton/ha in 50-80 cm soil dephts. Soil biomass mean of pure Fagus orientalis L. stand was not changed with aspect and stand volume.
