The security events according to the court records occured in Trabzon provience between the years 1115-1703/1703-1721

Court Records are the documents that can light the way for new and important information about the Ottoman history from the mid 15th century to the first quarter of 20th century. These documents also provide important information for researchers about military, social, economical and urban history as well as political one. We would like to indicate the condition of the Ottoman society on the basis of the case of Trabzon in the first quarter of the 18th century by examining the crimes we can call ordinary crimes such as pounding, bodily harm, robbery among the people in Trabzon between 1703-1721, considering the records. While doing this, we seperated our study into three parts. In the first part, we explained crimes, punishments for them and their classification in an Islamic state. In the second part, we explained the other sources of Ottoman penal law. Moreover, we tried to display the trial process in a court records with the examples from the records. In the third and the last part, we interpreted the security events occured in Trabzon according to the court records between 1703 and 1721 by seperating them title by title. We reflected the security events, their numbers and types in the records with graphics. When the obtained data was compared with the security studies of other regions, it was seen that crime ratio of Trabzon Provience had the same quality and quantity of other regions' crime ratio at the beginning of eighteen century.
