The heritage cases according to Trabzon court kadı records in the late 17th century

In this study, the examples of the inheritance issue, which is one of the issues exist between the people from past to present, in the Trabzon court were examined. The main source of the study are the number 1855 and 1856 Trabzon Court Records. The study includes inheritance cases between the years of H. 1097-1100 / AD. 1685/1688. This study consists of the three main chapters. In the first chapter, the position and the importance of the inheritance law in the Islamic law and the Ottomon law were studied. In this chapter, at first, the development of the Islamic law was examined by mentioning the concept of law. After then, the concept of Islamic law was mentioned and the inheritance issue in the ottoman law was examined in the second chapter, the records of the inheritance issues was classified according to their subject, and they were examined under the separated titles. In the last chapter, general evaluations were caried out under the title of social status of the people in the case records, the position of the woman in the inheritance law, and the position of the non-muslims in the inheritance law. Additionally, in this section, the general evaluations carried out and some inferences were made.
