Applications of the Utilization from Nonforest Woodlands in Trabzon The purpose of this study was to investigate the legal framework of the utilization from non-forest woodlands, the problems which owner of these lands and forestry organization's staff encountered during the application of this framework and the possible resolutions for these problems in Trabzon. 100 people gathered utilization right and 34 forestry staffs were questionerried. Results reached by questionerrias showed that the most important problem encountered during the process was time occupation of the applications. Also, most of the foretry staffs thought that forest definition in the laws wasn'n sufficient, site classification should be considered while determining the forest regime, non-forest woodlands had positive effects over the social conflicts, and the most important problem was the determination of the ownership. The percentage of the roundwood produced from non-forest woodlands (7428 m3) was %6.03 in the roundwoods produced in research area (123041 m3) between 1998-2002. Furthermore, the percentage of the fuelwood produced from non-forest woodlands (1 1955 ster) was %40.38 in the fuelwood produced in research area (29602 ster).
