Abstract (EN)
In this study, optimum heat shock conditions for producing triploid Black Sea trout, Salmo trutta labrax, were determined. The highest triploid yield was obtained with a shock treatment at 28 and 32°C for 10 min duration initiated 15 min post-fertilization. Triploid rates were in the range of 81 and 86%. Based on initial fish weight three different growth performance studies were carried out. In the first study, there were no significance differences were found between diploid (initial weight 0.24 ± 0.01 g) and triploid fish (initial weight 0.21 ± 0.01 g). In the second study, triploid fish (initial weight 5.8 ± 0.3 g) had higher growth rate, weight, weight of thermal growth coefficient and condition factors than that of diploid fish (initial weight 5.8 ± 0.2 g). In the last study, diploid (initial weight 52. 2 ± 1. 0 g) and triploid fish (initial weight 57.8 ± 3.6 g) were significantly differed from each other in weight, length, thermal growth coefficient, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency. Triploid fish had more efficient feed conversion ratio than diploid fish. There were no significant differences were found between diploid and triploid fish in condition factor and protein efficiency ratio. Percentage of muscle protein, water and ash content of diploid and triploid fish were differed from month to month while triploid fish had higher lipid level than diploid fish in all months. Saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids were higher in triploid fish than that of diploid fish. On the other hand, diploid fish had higher polyunsaturated fatty acids than that of triploid fish. Therefore, fatty acids content and growth performance of Black Sea trout was affected by ploidy.
