Abstract (EN)

We aimed to use this data to determine the banking and financial literacy knowledge levels of the masses actively working with banks operating in Ağrı. We conducted a field study on customers actively working with the participation banks of Ağrı city center. Another aim of this study is to distribute the participation banking knowledge levels of people participating with their banks according to demographic characteristics such as gender, marital status, age, education level, profession and monthly income level. Participants in the study were selected by the simple stepwise motion method. We used a face-to-face survey expert as a data collection tool. The survey was conducted with simple methods, using data from a total of 270 surveys, 143 men and 127 women, selected from 7,842 people actively working with participation banks. Financial literacy knowledge level, participation banking knowledge level, attitude and behavior scales were used for the participants. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency, common analysis, normality analysis, factor analysis, t-test, variance analysis, anomaly analysis and regression analysis were used in the development analysis obtained within the scope of the research. SPSS package program was used for analyses. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that financial literacy had a positive effect on attitude and behavior and a neutral effect on the level of participation banking knowledge. It has been determined that the results obtained largely support the results in the literature. In examining the differentiation of financial literacy attitude and behavior levels according to demographic variables and financial knowledge level, the results obtained by using T test, one-way Anova and Tukey tests were interpreted by showing them in tables in the analysis of the information. The financial literacy level of the participants in the research was determined to be at a medium level, and financial education was needed to improve their financial behavior and financial attitudes. Based on the findings of this study, suggestions were made to customers working with participation banks and researchers who will study on this subject.
