Abstract (EN)

Tunceli is located in the Upper Fırat side west of the Eastern Anatolia region and its boundaries lie between 38 ° 19 'and 40 ° 26' east longitudes and 39 ° 36 'and 38 ° 46' northern latitudes. The total area of the province is 7.774 km² and is surrounded by Erzincan from the north and west, Elazığ from the south and Bingöl from the east. Altitude of Tunceli province is 914 meters and Yeni Mahalle, Cumhuriyet, Esentepe, Mogultay, Alibaba, Ismet Inonu, Aktuluk are the main neighborhoods. In this thesis; The geological and geotechnical research report of the district of Tunceli, which is the study area, made by the private engineering offices and prepared by Iller Bank on behalf of the Municipality of Tunceli, was compiled and the soil properties of the Cumhuriyet neighborhood were evaluated gather. Within the scope of the thesis; standard penetration test, inclonometer, pressuremeter tests and remolded samples and core samples on the water cornet in laboratory tests, sieve analysis, hydrometer, atterberg limits, consolidation, swelling pressure, specific gravity, natural unit volume weight, triaxial compression test, point loading stength test and uniaxial compression test and so on. soil properties of different formations in the studied area were determined by evaluating laboratory test results. A total of 36 boreholes were drilled in 14 parcels to determine the soil characteristics of the study area. These boreholes are shallow boreholes up to 15 m and a total of 490 m progressed in these boreholes. The soils passed through the boreholes are: Karşılar Formation, Tunceli Formation units, residues and current deposits of Tunceli Formation. If the units are ordered strartigraphically, the units belonging to the Upper Palezoic-Early Mesozoic Karşılar Formation are at the bottom and the units and residues belonging to four different members from Geyiksuyu Member (Ttg) to Hozat Member (Tth) belonging to Tunceli Formation are located on Karşılar Formation and at the top there are current precipitates. Approximately 98% of the units passed in the drilling wells drilled in the study area are clay floors. When the lithological characteristics of the formations in the study area are observed in the field: Tunceli Formation consist of poorly graded conglomerate, red colored mudstone, claystone and fractured-cracked sandstone units. On the other hand, the residues of Tunceli Formation and current deposits are composed of clay soil of varying degree of placite the residues of Tunceli Formation and current sediments are composed of clays of different placite grades and the units belonging to Karşılar Formation are marble While the clay soils in the Tunceli Formation are largely in very solid form according to the consistency index; According to the liquidity index, it is seen as plastic-solid and brittle solid form. According to the degree of plasticity, it is generally seen to have high plasticity. It is seen that clay soils in terraced areas are in very solid form according to consistency index, very plastic-solid form according to liquidity index and high plasticity according to plasticity degree. Settlements that may occur on the soil in the working area are within acceptable limits. The ultimate bearing capacity values of rock soils are 13.30-37.13 kg/cm2 in the units of Tunceli Formation and the bearing capacity value of marble of Karşılar Formation is 5.68 kg/cm2. Key Words: Tunceli, Cumhuriyet Neighborhood, Soil, Index Properties, The Ultimate Bearing Capacity.
