Abstract (EN)
Chosen as a thesis study, Turgutlu district's physical, human and economical properties were studied. Located in Aegean Region Turgutlu is administratively tied to the province, Manisa. It has nearly 475 km2 square measure. High masses such as Bozdağlar in the south and Çaldağı in the north with Gediz Graben in the middle constitute the main geomorphological units of the study area. The area of investigation is under the effect of Mediterranean climate. It is mild and rainy in winters, and dry and hot in summers. Average annual temperature is nearly 16.9 oC and average annual rainfall is nearly 476 mm. Forest vegetation formed under the effect of Mediterranean climate has been destroyed locally by human activities. While black pine, calabrian pine and species of oak are seen on the high parts of mountain regions, upwards Graben bottom, where the elevation subsidences, garig, olive and maquis species become widespread. Alluvial soil, brown forest soils and red Mediterranean soils form the biggest soil groups of the field. The most important river of the field of study is the river, Gediz. The total population of the field in 2010 is 141962, The population in Turgutlu county town is 117632. There are 1 city, 2 towns and 37 villages in the field of study. In the field, where many fertile soils lie, grapes, greengage, olive and cherry forms are some of the most important agricultural products. Rural settlements show a collective settlement property. Most parts of the active population work in the sector of service and industry. In the town, where industry and commerce are developed, food, machine and soil industry generate important industry branches.
