Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the nature of Turkish political cinema was examined and it was wanted to present a perspective on the ideological background on the basis of the political concept of "the other". It is clear from our study that the discourse of "political film" contains themes that can focus on any kind of social issue, although it is an exception to the basic, known genre patterns of cinema, and these themes are revealed in the narrative patterns of cinema. Based on the question of what grounds cultural, ethnic and faith-based groups, which are considered "other" in the life of societies, are looking for opposition to dominant speech, the discipline of cinema forms the universe of this study, and the selected films are limited to the "non-probabilistic sampling" model. It can be seen that the phenomenon of political cinema in Turkey and the historical course it brings are open to criticism. Our main argument is that the ideological view is at the core of every thought and that worldviews care about the guidance of ideologies. From a metaphorical point of view, ideologies are a sea of meaning, politics is a ship floating in this sea, and cinema can be called magic that tells us the story of what is inside the ship and is closest to reality. The focus of our study is to determine that all these existential processes make sense with the "other". Keywords: Ideology, Cinema, Politics, Political Cinema, Other
