Abstract (EN)
The history of Meskhetian Turks is based on a long history; however, they had to leave their ancestral lands in 1944 for centuries. The Meskhetian Turks, who were deported to the various parts of Central Asia by Stalin, the president of the USSR of the period, were exposed to many problems in the places they went. Fergana incidents, the Krasnodar problem and forced migration to the United States are among the most obvious examples. In the introduction part of this study, which consists of an introduction and a main section, the historical background of the Meskhetian Turks and the exiles they lived are mentioned. Then, the second part consists of the main purpose of the study. In this section, it is tried to examine how the events of Meskhetian Turks are reflected in the Turkish novels. It is tried to pay attention from a different dimension and shed light on the drama of Meskhetian Turks who lived in exile for seventy-four years. In the first novel, Aşka Son Bakış, separation of the two Meskhetian lovers from each other during exile and reunion of them by fate are narrated. In the background of this love story, the troubles experienced by Meskhetian Turks lie. Gurbetten İniltiler are presented in series and consists of three novels. The first of the novels mentions 1944 exile while the second narrates the lives of Meskhetian Turks in the period of martial law, and the last novel refers to Fergana events. The novel, Kardaki Ayak İzleri: Ahıska Türklerinin Dramı, approaching the event from a different standpoint, tackles the hardships Meskhetian Turks encountered when immigrated to Turkey. In the novel Sara: Ahıska'da Bir Ermeni Gelin, The Meskhetian Turks' sacrifices made in the name of national struggle and Turkishness are mentioned. The novel Salkım Söğütlerin Gölgesinde discusses the life styles of Meskhetian Turks in Ahıska, their communication with foreign neighbours and the 1944 Exile. In the novel Vatan Kokusu, the story of two brothers who were forced to separate from each other during the 1944 Exile are narrated. And in the last novel Ahıska Sürgünü: Menemşe, it is touched on the difficulties faced by Ismail, who was exiled because he did not fulfil the requirements of communist understanding, the 1944 Exile and its bitter experiences lived in aftermath.
