Second Şükrü Saraçoğlu government in Turkish political life (1943-1946)

Recently, important studies have been conducted in terms of national history studies in Turkey. It is observed that significant studies have been conducted, especially in relation to Turkish political history. However, it has been determined that the Second Şükrü Saraçoğlu Government, which is a period of Turkish political history, has not been studied in detail. Since it has been believed that this creates certain gaps in terms of Turkish political history, this thesis has been prepared in order to eliminate this deficiency. Şükrü Saraçoğlu, who served as a minister for both Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and İsmet İnönü Governments, formed a Government twice in the following period and served as the Prime Minister and lastly as the President of the Parliament. In this context, conducting scientific studies on Şükrü Saraçoğlu, who has a great place in Turkish political life, is also highly important in terms of recent Turkish history. This study primarily aims to reveal the contributions of Şükrü Saraçoğlu to this period as the President of the Government in addition to the minister offices held by him in the process of transition to multi-party political life in Turkey. In this thesis prepared by me, it has been aimed to reveal what kind of regulations were made in the political, legal, economic and social fields in Turkey between 1943- 1946 when Şükrü Saraçoğlu was the Prime Minister, what kind of changes were experienced in the domestic and foreign politics of Turkey, and what kind of impacts these had on the people. In this context, it has been attempted to reveal in detail the policies followed in domestic and foreign politics as well as the practices conducted during Second Şükrü Saraçoğlu Government Period who founded the 14th Government of Turkey by founding a government for the second time in 1943. In addition, objectives of the study also include the Government's practices and revealing the differences by comparing these to the data of previous governments. This thesis titled "Second Şükrü Saraçoğlu Government in Turkish Political Life (1943-1946)" is a qualitative study and the data were obtained by using document analysis technique. A general assessment of the materials containing the knowledge and documents in the literature about the events in the examined period was conducted with the document analysis. While doing these, archival documents obtained from the Presidential Republic Archive, TBMM Minutes Journals, national newspapers and copyright works were utilized.
