Examination of the suitability of text types i̇n Turkish textbook to 2018 curriculum

The most important assistant and source of the Turkish course is textbooks. Students' interest in books is diminishing as a result of the rapid increase in the use of technological devices such as computers, tablets and telephones. For this, Turkish course books should be prepared in a way that will attract the attention of the students. Turkish language education books, which consist of four basic language skills, should also be prepared to reflect these skills. Today, constructivist education is applied as education and Turkish Curriculum is prepared in accordance with this understanding. Turkish Curriculum Turkish It is the most important source explaining how textbooks should be prepared and how the application should be. In this study, a total of 13 textbooks prepared for the Turkish course in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 were examined. A total of 432 texts in all books, text types, qualifications required in the texts, the number of texts were investigated. As a result of the researches, it was determined that the number of the books that were taught at the other grade levels except the 5th grade book taught in the 2017-2018 academic year was not more than the number of the text, that the text types were not given to the text types included in the program and that there were no compulsory themes. In 2018-2019, all the textbooks in Turkish at the grade level were prepared in accordance with the 2018 Turkish Curriculum in terms of the number of text types, the use of the text types in the program and the compulsory themes.
