Abstract (EN)

The traditional face-to-face learning approach, which has been used for centuries, is gradually being replaced by the blended learning approach. Forasmuch as research in the field of today's technology and educational sciences shows that the use of the internet and information technologies in the field of education will have a direct impact on the success of students. Accordingly, in this study, it is aimed to compare the effects of face-to-face learning and blended learning methods on students' success. The findings obtained from this study, in which the effect of the blended learning approach on academic achievement was examined in particular for the 6th grade students studying in Urganlı 23 Nisan Secondary School in Turgutlu, Manisa, revealed that blended learning increases the academic success of all students in grammar, almost all students in reading, writing and speaking, and the vast majority of students in listening, which are five basic skills. On the other hand, it has been observed that face-to-face learning can increase the academic success of only half of the students in grammar, less than half of the students in listening, only one-third of the students in speaking, two-thirds in reading, and more than half in writing. Therefore, as a result of the research, it has been revealed that blended learning has a positive effect on the academic success of 6th grade students in Turkish lessons, and suggestions have been developed in this context.
