The effect of game and concept teaching in turkish lesson on student's attitudes and vocabulary

Developments in today's world, where wars are now fought with pen and language, have changed the needs of individuals and societies. In addition to individuals who acquire and use information, there is a need for individuals who use cognitive skills well, have the emotional and mental skills necessary to maintain their lives, can keep up with the conditions of the day, are creative, can make self-evaluation, research, think and produce ideas. This research was carried out to examine the attitudes of the students towards the vocabulary and Turkish lesson of the concept teaching with the educational game. It is an experimental model study made for this purpose. The pretest-posttest included in the experimental method has a quasi-experimental nature with an experimental group. The findings obtained with the pilot application made to 100 students were analyzed with the statistics program and it was concluded that the application was effective on the students. After the pilot application, a structured interview form was applied to the practitioner teachers and students, and with the data obtained, necessary arrangements were made on the prototype of the game and it was made ready for the main application. The main application was applied to 370 students selected by sampling. The data collected from the experimental groups were analyzed with the statistical program, the reliability coefficients of the study were calculated, the normality distributions were examined and the tests to be applied were determined accordingly. As a result of this research, in which the words in Atatürk's Address to the Youth were tried to be taught with educational games, it was concluded that the educational game developed increased the success of the students and caused a positive change in their attitudes towards the lesson.
