Abstract (EN)

In the present study is visited the mixed stands of Picea orientalis and Fagus orientalis of Sinop city Türkeli town Kazköy The required data were collected from the experimental plots. The findings were as follws: Fagus orientalis trees were definitely taller than Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmülleriana trees practically of the same age. Whenever both species were of the similar height Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmülleriana trees were much older. In mixed stands where Fagus orientalis was dominant the natural regeneration of the Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmülleriana should be realized under shelter on the groups. Moreover, Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmülleriana seedlings should be given 8-10 years of age and height priority to Fagus orientalis that was allowed to generate. In mixed stands where Abies nordmanniana subsp. bornmülleriana was dominant or two species were of nearly equal ratio, these two species should not be regenerated on the same land inthe same year. They should be regenerated on different lands in accordance with the mixture ratio. İn that case shelter wood systems should also be used. In degraded mixed stands artifial regeneration should be prefered due to the lack or insufficent number of seed trees Fagus orientalis were susceptiple to frost and in high altitudes.
