Today, solid waste has started to become a big problem in the World and Turkey. In this thesis, while the subject of energy production from solid waste and wastes is examined together with the example of Kocaeli (İZAYDAŞ), the concept of solid waste and solid waste management practices in Turkey, with examples from world, have been studied. The study consists of four chapters: In the first chapter, the purpose of this search, the geographics location of Kocaeli, the physical and human characteristics of this search area, the data and method used in the writing of the thesis, and the literatüre review related to the subject and the subject are explained. This thesis aimed; state of solid waste in Kocaeli and Turkey, environmental and economic impact of solid wastes on our country, how solid wastes can be reduced and evaluated in the case of İZAYDAŞ together with the production of energy from solid wastes and the status of disposal facilities. Kocaeli, where solid wastes are widespread, together with the population consumption, consumption and industrial site, was selected as the sample. Along with the literature review, field research was also conducted, and the statistical information was used in tables and graphics by making interviews with İZAYDAŞ officials. In the conceptual framework part of second chapter; the concept, the environment, environmental pollution and it scauses, waste, solid waste and it stypes, sustainable development, integrated waste management and application options are explained. In the third part, the finding sand evaluation section are presented. In this section solid wastes in Turkey , municipal waste, classification of solid waste, energy production from solid waste, production of energy from solid waste and solid waste in Kocaeli and finally in the fourth part instance of İZAYDAŞ, solid wastes and disposal of solid wastes are explained. Turkey's characterization of the solid waste by Kocaeli where in the solid waste has similarities. In this characterization, most of the solid wastes are kitchen wastes. Solid wastes such as fabrics, shoes, diapers, and bags, which are in other flammable class, also take up a lot of space. In the winter season, ash and slag wastes increase. The amount of solid waste per capita in 2018 in Turkey and Kocaeli at a mean of 1.2 kg per day 'approximates. Turkey's waste storage and disposal authority is given to local governments. Wild storage is prohibited. However, wild storage is still carried out in small settlements that cannot be reached by local governments. Landfill, incineration, biogas, disposal methods, such as LFG Turkey 'continues to be widespread. There are 195 waste processing facilities in Kocaeli as of 2018. There are 95 non-hazardous waste recovery facilities, 60 licensed packaging waste collection and recovery facilities and 29 hazardous waste recovery facilities in Kocaeli. The most important of these are Turkey's first solid waste disposal facility İZAYDAŞ. This property has been leading to other disposal facilities established in Turkey. In the fourth chapter, İZAYDAŞ and its activities are given in detail.
