Abstract (EN)

In our dissertation titled "Comparison of Music Teaching in Turkey and Azerbaijan Primary Schools"; A comparative assessment of existing systems in the education system between the two countries has been made. In the study, firstly the philosophers' thoughts on music were examined by the various philosophers who existed in the history of world thought. As a result of this examination, famous philosophers gave their opinions about music. After Filizof's views; The musical history of the countries in question is mentioned. In this context, firstly Azerbaijani Music History is examined and important people and their works are emphasized. After the narration of Azerbaijan Music History; Turkey Music History is focused on. In particular, music education in the period of the Republic of Turkey was emphasized. After mentioning the history of music, music textbooks first taught in elementary schools in the Azerbaijan education system were first studied and the situation evaluation was made taking into consideration the teaching of notes in these books. Following this review, music textbooks in primary schools in Turkey were examined and the same method was applied here. The curriculum and formal practices of the courses were taken into account during this review. As a result of comparative studies; In Azerbaijan textbooks, visual and literary works such as painting and poetry for student interest as well as note teaching were observed to be better than primary school music textbooks in Turkey.
