Laws and regulations for women adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (1920- 1950)

This study aims to examine the legal regulations regarding women's rights and the social effects of these regulations during the Republic period of Turkey. In the period discussed in the context of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of modern Turkey, the decisions taken by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) regarding women between 1920 and 1950 represent not only a legal evolution but also a social transformation. Critical regulations such as the Civil Code and voting rights have shaped the change in women's roles in the public and private spheres. This research aims to understand the leadership role of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the evolution of the struggle for women's rights, shedding light on Turkey's social and legal development.
