Abstract (EN)

The Republic of Turkey was founded on the legacy of the Ottoman Empire in social, economic and cultural fields. There were no major breaks in these areas, and a smooth transition occurred. Therefore, it is accepted that there are aspects of the social policy practices of the Ottoman Empire that are reflected in the social policy practices of the Republic of Turkey. In the early years of the founding of the Republic, breakthroughs took place in many areas under Ataturk, and these breakthroughs also had an impact on social policies. With the transition to multiparty life, changing social judgments have also affected the direction of social policies to a certain extent. In this study, the orientation of social policies in the Republic of Turkey during the Democratic Party period was emphasized. In this context, the social policies in the first years of the Republic and the social policies after the transition to multi-party life have been handled comparatively. In terms of better understanding of the subject, the process between the establishment of the Democratic Party and its coming to power has been examined in detail and the historical development of social policies has been tried to be revealed.
