Abstract (EN)
The use of chromosomal features to understand the importance of cytotaxonomy to classify insects and to resolve most taxonomic problems at certain levels means that we need easy and regular access to karyological data in the entomological literature. For this reason, the Turkish Insects Chromosome Database Program has been developed in order to create a central source for karyotype data compiled from the published literature of Turkish insects. The program was developed on the Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2017 platform using the Visual C# software language and used MS SQL Server 2008 R2 as database software. The designed program offers an easy-to-use database that allows the regulation, access and dissemination of karyological data of Turkish insects. This program will inspire the use and development of cytogenetic knowledge of Turkish insects and encourage insect taxonomists to use chromosomes more.
