Abstract (EN)
Energy is defined as the ability to do business, although it is divided into types. I have addressed Turkey's energy and security problem within the framework of realist and neorealist theories within the scope of theoretical method. It is seen that the diversity of Turkey's existing energy resources and the potential level of sufficiency are the main reasons for the emerging energy problem. When we look at our country's geopolitical and geostrategic position, Turkey plays a key role in the region it is located in. Being neighbors to countries rich in energy resources has played a major role in shaping Turkey's energy diplomacy. In order to overcome the energy dependency brought about by its economic breakthroughs and to position itself as a regional power, it has become a member of many energy organizations or has undertaken a major role in the establishment of these organizations. Turkey is taking major steps towards becoming a hub in energy by using its strategic location and geopolitical advantages. It invests in important pipelines and energy projects in order to create a bridge between energy resources and consumption centers, while also attaching importance to renewable energy facilities, which are alternative energy sources. These pipelines and energy projects include Turkey's goal of both providing its own energy supply and playing an important role in the energy trade in the region. The reason why Turkey is a strong actor in the energy market is revealed based on the assumption that the dependency and security problems created by the energy problem will threaten national security.
