An Investigation of total quality management in the second professional soccer league teams of Türkiye

The application of total quality management, which's the top level of contemporary management of today's life, on the professional soccer clubs may contribute ant the regulations dealing with the basic principles of total quality made on the sports club management can lent us to success. On this study it is not only aimed to determine the structures and the management methods of the clubs in the Turkish Second Division but also the views of the fans, footballers ant managers about the planning, applying, controlling and measures which are the basics principles affect the team success. In the order to examine the club structures of the Turkish Professionals II. Division football teams, a questionnaire has been made involving the teams Akçaabat Sebatspor, Gümüşhane Doğanspor, Boluspor, Düzcespor, Hopaspor and their managers, staff, tremors, footballers and funs. The research has been made on the six football teams and on the managers, staff, tremors, funs of these clubs. These clubs' standings on the table at the end of the first term of the 2000-2001 sessions are as fallows. Akçaabat Sebatspor and Gümüşhane Doğanspor (At the top of the table), Hopaspor and Amasyaspor (At the middle of the table), Boluspor and Düzcespor (At the bottom of the table) the questionnaire made on the managers, staffs, trainers, and soccer players at the and of the first term of the 2000-2001 season and on funs before the important matches. The results of the study have shown that the successful clubs Akçaabat Sebatspor and Gümüşhane Doğanspor have carried art the basic principles of the total quality management successfully. Finally, these results indicated that total quality management can be applied on Professional soccer clubs and the improvement of the principles of the total quality management will increase the success.
