Abstract (EN)

One of the goals of the Science course is to educate scientifically literate individuals. In the 21st century, the need for questioning, productive and creative individuals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is increasing every day. Developing the education system, student and teacher is the basis of raising individuals who have the aforementioned equipment. In addition, the fact that the problems encountered in our age involve many disciplines leads to the adoption of interdisciplinary approaches in the face of these problems. In this direction, the FeTeMM/STEM education program, which has more than one discipline and is preferred in many countries of the world today, is a new program within the fields of teaching and learning, needs to be integrated into the education system. STEM was first coined as an education concept in 2001 by Judith A. Ramaley, director of The National Science Foundation. STEM is an abbreviation of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and is known as more than one education discipline. The subject of this study is to try to determine the methods, techniques and materials used by science teachers in science subjects and in the fields that cover these subjects. Within the scope of this study, 145 science teachers in different cities of Turkey in the 2018-2019 academic year and actively using STEM in their classes discussed the ideas and methods and techniques they use related to STEM education. This study was carried out using phenomenology pattern from qualitative research methods. As a result of the study, it was noticeable that the science teachers working in our country had high STEM awareness, but have significant difficulties in reaching the material that is needed within the scope of the subject they describe.
