Abstract (EN)
Fluctuations in the prices of agri-food products, food inflation and food security have become an important issue in recent years. Agri-food production is associated with sustainability, food and climate crises, malnutrition, hunger and diminishing supply of natural resources. In addition, it is on the agenda of research related to multifaceted issues that include social, economic and environmental factors. One of the prominent approaches in this framework is the research on agri-food supply and value chains, which enables a holistic analysis of the system. This research was conducted to analyse the current agri-food system and to reveal its problems and the need for transformation. Fruit-vegetable sector, red meat sector and dairy sector for Turkey have been analysed comparatively within the scope of local and national agri-food value chain and it has been determined that short/local agri-food chain can be one of the alternative solutions and solution suggestions have been given.
