Abstract (EN)
In this study, borrowed words that entered the Russian language through Turkish have been analyzed. Russian and Turkish are two distinct languages that have been in mutual interaction and relationship from the past to the present ("взаимное влияние языков" – mutual influence of languages). There are numerous studies focusing on the literary interaction between these two languages. However, based on the existing studies, it can be stated that research examining the grammatical interaction between Russian and Turkish is insufficient. Yet, when the ongoing interaction between the two languages is taken into account, it becomes evident that Russian and Turkish have influenced each other, resulting in the transfer of many words. Research based on various sources has shown that Turkish-origin words used in Russian have undergone phonetic, structural, and semantic changes as a result of linguistic transfer they have acquired new meanings, experienced semantic narrowing, come to denote entirely different concepts, or gained additional meanings alongside their original etymological sense. In line with these findings, this study analyzes the borrowed words that entered Russian from Turkish in terms of their etymological characteristics, as well as their phonetic, semantic, morphological, and grammatical features, and examines their usage. Furthermore, the roots of these Turkish-origin words in the source language, their derived forms, developments, and meanings are also addressed. Keywords: Turkish, Russian, Etymology, Borrowing
