Abstract (EN)

Environmental pollution is rising due to tecnological development and increase of population day by day. Nowadays, dyes are one of the specific pollutants that cause environmental pollution. Dye-containing wastewater when discharge into receiving enviroment by reducing photosynthetic activity in aquatic environment has a negative impact on the transmittace of light. Besides toxtic and carcinogenic effect has occured because of accumulation in aquatic organisms. In this study was conducted with 40 mg/L Reactive Black 5(RB5) dye. Ultrasound (US), Fenton and US/Fenton process on color removal and total organic carbon (TOC) were investigated. Furthermore, the effects of some ions(SO4-2, HCO3- ve NO3-) in water and N2 gas on color removal was analyzed. Finally, 100 mg/L concentration RS5 dye was investigated in order to see the effect of high concentration on the system, color removal efficiencies and TOC values in ultrasound (US), Fenton (Fe+H2O2) and US/Fenton reactions at optimum conditions for 40 mg/L RS5 dyes. As a result of studies, percent of color removal for 40 mg/L concentration of RB5 with Fenton reaction is %91,55; with US/Fenton process is %93,59. Similarly percent of color removal for 100 mg/L concentration of RB5 with Fenton reaction is % 91,50; US/Fenton process is %92,56.
