Abstract (EN)

In Turkey's existing electricity transmission system, the increased electricity due to snowmelt in the spring months is transmitted along the east-west axis, leading to strain on the transmission lines. Given the escalating difficulties associated with expropriation, it may become more advantageous to add a hybrid HVDC transmission line to existing towers instead of constructing a new transmission line. This study investigates the feasibility of integrating hybrid HVDC-HVAC transmission systems into the national grid. The environmental impacts of such a hybrid structure have been thoroughly analyzed using FEMM 4.2 and PSCAD/FACE software. The placement of the conductors on the towers is an important parameter in reducing environmental impacts. Therefore, to achieve the optimum hybrid tower configuration, the electric field, magnetic field, audible noise, and radio noise have been optimized using the Jellyfish Search metaheuristic approach based on the positions of the conductors and the spacing between them, both for single objective and multi objective purposes. Finally, the effectiveness of the hybrid system in different corridors where bottlenecks occur in the existing Turkish electricity transmission infrastructure has been examined by modeling in the Digsilent Power Factory software.
