Determining the level of cultural intelligence and socializati̇on with sports in universi̇ty students

This study is conducted to examine the cultural intelligence and socialization levels of the students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of the Agri Ibrahim Çeçen University in the 2020-2021 academic year in terms of different demographic variables.The sampling of the study is consist of 278 university students determined by random sampling method according to the maximum diversity in accordance with the purpose of the study.The research is a quantitative research which is conducted with a relational survey model. Personal information form prepared by the research author, for Cultural intelligence scale which is adapted to Turkish by İlhan and Çetin 2014 that was originally developed by Ang et al. 2007 used, and socialization scale in sports developed by Şahan 2008 is also used.Firstly the identification of numerical data regarding the demographic variables in the research, descriptive statistics were used for the compilation and submission (frequency, percentage) is used.With this method, the profiles of the participants in the research revealed.For non-single comparisonsMann-Whitney U Test, for multiple comparisonsKruskal-Wallis Variance Analysis is used.In case of significant difference occur in Kruskal-Wallis Variance Analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test was applied to find out from which clusters this difference originated.The Spearman Correlation (r) coefficient technique is used to reveal the relationship between Cultural Intelligence and sports and socialization levels of the students who participated in the research. As a result of the study, it is understood that the motivation and behaviors sub-dimensions of the cultural intelligence scale sub-dimensions significantly differentiated according to the gender variable of the participants, the motivation dimension in the level of activity in sports and the scores of the socialization scale with sports.It is seen that behavior scores differed significantly from the sub-dimensions of the place of residence in cultural intelligence scale, also according to the department variable, the scores of motivation and socialization in sports scale, which are sub-dimensions of the cultural intelligence scale, been significantly different. When the accommodation and family monthly income is variable, it showed that the scores of the cognition and socialization in sports scale, which are among the sub-dimensions of cultural intelligence, differ significantly.It is seen that cognition, motivation and behavior differed from the six dimensions of the cultural intelligence scale according to the weekly exercise time variables.It is observed that all sub-dimensions and scores of socialization in sports scale differed significantly in the variable of monthly spending, age and social area that one spends time.According to the correlation results made on the total scores and sub-dimensions of the Cultural Intelligence scale and the scores of socialization in sports; It isseen that there is a significantly positive correlation(relationship) between the Cultural Intelligence scale and all its sub-dimensions. It is determined that there is a significantly positive low correlation between Cultural Intelligence and socialization levels in sports, and there is a significantly positive low correlation between the behavioral and motivation dimension, which is one of the sub-dimensions of the cultural Intelligence scale, and socialization in sports. Lastly, its seen that there is a significant positive moderate relationship between the metacognitive sub-dimension and socialization in sports, but there is no significant relationship in the cognition dimension.
