Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the leisure constraints of university students in terms of some variables according to student perception. 525 students, selected by coincidence method and studying School of Physical Education and Sports and Faculty of Education in Dumlupinar University, participated in this research. The data form prepared within the scope of the study consists of two parts. In the first part, a personal information form to identify the demographics of the participants; in the second part, "Leisure Constraints Scale", which was developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997) and adapted by Karaküçük and Gürbüz (2007), was used to determine the constraints in participating recreational activities according to student perception. The Turkish form of the scale consists of 27 items; (a) individual psychology (6 items) (b) the lack of knowledge (3 items) (c) facilities/services (4 items) (d) accessibility (4 items), (e) lack of partners (3 items), (f) time and lack of interests (7 items). The collected data was transferred to monitor using Microsoft Office Excel program and SPSS 20.0 program was used for the analysis of the data and for the comparison of the variables. As a result of this research, there were significant differences (p <0,05) between participants' gender, age, department, year of study, places lived as longest period, monthly income, education level of participants' mothers and leisure constraints scores. On the contrary, there were not significant difference between exercising recreational sports status, exercising licensed sporting status, father education level and leisure constraints scores. Key Words: recreation, leisure, leisure constraints
