Özet (EN)

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between social media usage, social media addiction and attachment styles. In addition, the possibility of some sociodemographic vaiables accounting for the relationship between the subdimensions of social media usage goals, social media addiction and attachment styles was also investigated. The sample of the study consists of 391 students studying at Gaziantep University in 2017/2018. Socio-demographic information form, social media use purpose scale, social media addiction scale and attachment styles scale were applied to the participants. According to the results, it is seen that social media is used for education and friendship information purposes. There was a positive and statistically significant relationship between social media use goals, social media addiction and sub-dimensions of attachment styles. It was determined that the sub-dimensions of social media use purposes, social media addiction and attachment styles did not show significant differences according to demographic variables.
