Abstract (EN)

An Expert System Developed for Choosing Criteria Of Quality Control In Production Design In design of machine components, tolerances selected in terms of machine component function must be manufactured with the most economic methods. Therefore, designers have an important duty in design stage. In this study, an expert system program has been developed that helps designers in tolerance analysis and tolerance synthesis. This expert system program is developed by using PROLOG, one of the expert system language and the logical programming language. The program is suitable for all P.C.'s. The expert system which is developed for general usage, consists of knowledge base and inference engine. The knowledge base includes knowledge such as ISO fits, tolerance tables, manufacturing methods, and surface quality. Inference engine, the other component of the expert system program, consists of IF-THEN rules which reach the knowledge required in knowledge base, use the knowledge reached in knowledge base, and also show the obtained results. The expert system program which works with users interactively, suggests a tolerance in terms of dimensional and functional usage of the machine components and determines which surface quality and which manufacturing method (casting, plastic deformation, finishing) are needed to obtain quickly the tolerance suggested before. Moreover, this expert system will help users determine or standardize which type or tolerance group is suitable for machine components, of which shaft size and roughness values are calculated.
