A research study on gifted student?s knowledge and attitudes towards environment

The aim of the study is to assess environmental knowledge of gifted students at primary level and their attitudes towards environment in relation to their gender, socioeconomic status of their parents and school level to determine whether there is a relation between their environmental knowledge and their attitudes towards environment or not and to determine their level to be able to generate solutions towards environmental problems.This study was made with totally 106 students who were educated in Science and Art Centers at primary level in Bursa, Elazığ, Kırşehir, Malatya, Ordu and Van. So asto collect data environmental knowledge test and environmental atitude scale were used in the study.As a result of the study:It was determined that, there is not significant difference in their environmental knowledge in relation to gender variable. It was determined that, there is not a significant difference in their attitudes towards environment in relation to gender variable. It was determined that, there is a significant difference in their environmental knowledge in relation to their school level. This difference is particularly between 5th and 8th grades in favour of 8th grades. It was determined that, there is not significant difference in their attitudes towards environment in relation to their school level. It was determined that, there is not significant difference in their environmental knowledge in relation to socioeconomic status of their parents. It was determined that, there is not a significant difference in their attitudes towards environment in relation to socioeconomic status of their parents. It was determined that, environmental knowledge level is %69,3 value. It was determined that, their attitudes towards environment is positive level.
