Abstract (EN)

The Crimean Khanate ruled from the middle of the XVth century until the end of the XVIIIth century and left behind a rich corpus of documents worthy of diplomatic, political, economic and cultural research. Part of the corpus of the official correspondence of the Crimean Khanate between 1515 and 1767, consisting of yarliks and lines, was published by V. V. Velyaminov-Zernov. The state administration structure of the Crimean Khanate was based on the traditions of the Golden Horde Khanate and the laws of Genghis Khan. The Crimean Khanate not only continued the Golden Horde Khanate's tradition of diplomacy and state administration, but also established new administrative institutions. In 1475, the Crimean Khanate came under the sovereignty of the Ottoman Empire and the Ottoman Empire's influence began in the administrative, economic, social and cultural spheres. The Crimean Khanate created a unique diplomatic language and style by combining the ancient diplomatic tradition of the Golden Horde Khanate with the Ottoman Empire's diplomatic practices in its diplomatic orders. The diplomatic yarlıks sent to the Tsardom of Russia, the Kingdom of Poland and the Kingdom of Prussia contained detailed information on Crimean court ceremonies, the reception of ambassadors, the taxes collected from these states and political developments. The political relations of the Crimean Khanate with the states with which it established diplomatic relations changed in the historical process, but the tradition of diplomatic correspondence continued with partial changes until the last periods of the khanate. The majority of the Crimean Khanate's diplomatic correspondence between 1666 and 1767 is made up of the orders sent to the Russian Tsardom. During this period, which corresponded to the transition period of the Russian Tsardom to empire, the Crimean Khanate acted in line with the policies of the Ottoman Empire against the Russians and became the power protecting the northern borders of the Ottoman Empire. The history of Crimea between 1666-1767 in Velyaminov-Zernov's work is analyzed, compared with contemporary sources of the relevant period and evaluated. The study is intended to shed light on the researches in the fields of language-culture and socio-economics as well as Crimean political history.
