Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine anti-bacterial activities against VREs which emerged as an important problem in recent years by obtaining plant essential oils such as thyme, rosemary, sage, lime, nigella, laurus nobilis, mint, parsley, cinnamon and spindle, which are grown in our country, obtained and found in the market easily. The inhibition zones were determined by Disc Diffusion and Agar Kuyucuk Diffusion Method and the antibacterial effects of these plant extracts were investigated by having prepared 2,5 and 5 mg/ml concentrations of extracts of 10 plants grown naturally in our country on 5 VRE isolation obtained from the Microbiology Laboratory of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. According to the findings, it was ascertained that extracts of rosemary and sage plants have high antibacterial effect against pathogenic bacteria. Rosemary extract was found to be the most effective extract by showing moderate antibacterial effect to all 5 VRE. It was observed that lime, thyme and mint extracts have a moderate antibacterial effect on 4 of 5 VREs. The composition of volatile oils obtained by extraction method from the top soil of the plants used in our study was determined by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Furthermore, it was explored whether the extracts obtained from different plants cause any changes in the structure of DNA. It was concluded that no plant extract has caused any disturbance in the DNA structure.
