Özet (EN)
Turkish media has recently started to become less accurate and objective, as a result of the political and economic relationships caused by neo-liberalism. This situation has revealed itself clearly during the Gezi Park protests. In the Gezi Park demonstrations, similar to what happened during the protests in the other regions, people began to develop their own way of publicly sharing the news that are not shown in the mainstream media. Meanwhile examples of " citizen journalism " or " citizen media " have also emerged. One of the examples is Çapul TV. The reason why Çapul TV is the subject of this study is, it has developed on its own initiative within the dynamics of the protests. The data for the study were obtained from in-depth interviews with activists as well as from the analysis of the web sites and the social media during and after the protests. The aim of this study is to contribute alternative media through Çapul TV. Key Words: alternative media, citizen journalism, citizen media, Gezi Parkı protests, Çapul TV
