Prediction of efficiency of The Bank of Provinces CO. Regional Directorates by using data envelopment analysis

In this study, it is aimed to prediction of efficiency of the Bank of Provinces Co. Regional Directorates by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) using 2009 data. DEA is a linear programming based technique for measuring the relative efficiency of organizational decision units where the presence of multiple input and outputs makes comparisons difficult. The inputs considered in the study are total expenses of the regional directorates which are regarded in this study, number employers and number of municipality in their responsibility. Checking incomes and rate incomes are used as outputs in the present study. Then the efficiency scores of the regional directorates are predicted previously and it has been investigated that how the ineffective regional directorates can be approached to effective limit by potential amelioration analysis. The results of this study show that regional directorate of İstanbul is effective by the approximations of both CRS and VRS. In addition, it has been obtained that the regional directorates of Ankara and Kayseri have lowest efficiency scores.Keywords: DEA, Total Efficiency, Efficiency Analysis, Bank of Provinces Regional Directorates.
